ALTON, Virginia (June 19, 2022) – The Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 faced a weekend of ups and downs at VIRginia International Raceway, in Rounds 5 & 6 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS.

Michael Cooper and Erin Vogel achieved a top-five Pro/Am finish on Saturday in their RealTime Racing Acura; while Ashton Harrison and Mario Farnbacher contested for the Pro/Am class win on Sunday in their similar NSX GT3 Evo22, until a late-race off-track excursion dropped the Racers Edge Motorsports pair to sixth at the checkers.

Vogel and Cooper qualified 12th in Pro/Am for both sessions in their RealTime Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo22, but worked their way up the leaderboard during Saturday’s race, securing fifth in Pro/Am. Racers Edge Motorsports started the weekend strong in qualifying, with Farnbacher starting on overall pole for Sunday’s race. But during Saturday’s race, after Harrison worked her way up from fifth to second in Pro/Am during the first lap, two back-to-back collisions took their Racers Edge Motorsports NSX GT3 Evo22 out of the weekend’s opening race.

But the Racers Edge crew repaired their Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 overnight, sourcing spare parts from fellow Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 team Rick Ware Racing, based in nearby North Carolina.

Starting from the pole, Farnbacher and Harrison held the lead through almost the entirety of the race with a Pro/Am victory in their sights. But with less than five minutes left in the race, an off-track excursion caused Harrison to fall back to seventh in class. Putting up a final fight, Harrison moved up to finish fifth in class.

Sunday ended prematurely for Michael Cooper in the RealTime machine when he was involved in a collision with Madison Snow.
